Actual Patient
Dr. Trammell has two offices, one in Plano and one in Carrollton. He also provides orthodontic services to Seagoville patients in an associate's office, one day per month. To view an interactive map and print directions, see Contact Us.
The cost of your orthodontic treatment will be entirely based on your specific needs. Dr. Trammell accepts many forms of payment, including CareCredit. We will discuss your treatment plan and financial arrangements with you at the initial evaluation.
The length of your treatment plan will depend upon your specific case. Young children, for instance, may need phased treatment , where each phase may last one to two years. Adult therapy is usually longer than that of the typical adolescent patient. Major cases will require longer and possibly more complicated treatment plans. However, some mild to moderate cosmetic issues can often be corrected in shorter periods.
If your teeth are extremely crowded, if you have significant protrusion of the front teeth or if you have extra teeth, extraction of some teeth may be necessary in order to allow for the desired alignment. Dr. Trammell will discuss his recommendations thoroughly with you so that you understand what is necessary to achieve optimal, lasting results. (There are other reasons for extraction of teeth that have not been listed here. Any consideration for the removal of permanent teeth will be explained in detail.)
No one is too old for a straight smile. We have esthetic orthodontic options for adults who want straighter teeth without compromising a mature, sophisticated image.
While it's never too late to begin orthodontic therapy, early evaluation of the young patient is the most optimal policy. There are a number of reasons why seeing children at a young age (5 to 7 years old) can have far-reaching effects on the ultimate orthodontic result. Monitoring the growth and development of the young patient can be invaluable in determining the approach to the dental and or skeletal challenges that the patient may present. Dr. Trammell has practiced orthodontics in Carrollton since 1980, and in Plano since 1996. Read his biography here.
Yes. Dr. Trammell is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), as are almost all university trained (generally 2 year graduate school training) orthodontists. In order to be “board certified,” the university-trained orthodontist must take and pass a rigorous case presentation (actual patient treated cases) and oral board test. Board certification is both a commitment to excellence and a personal honor. Less than 35% of the nation's orthodontists have acheived board certification.
With two years of postgraduate education in the discipline of orthodontics only (following dental school education), Dr. Trammell can provide insight into your patient’s orthodontic needs that your general dentist has not been adequately trained to evaluate for, in most cases. This does not in any way diminish the importance your general dentist plays in your or your children’s oral health. The general dentist, along with his/her hygienist, wants to provide your family with the best dental care available, but they also realize that if referring you or a family member to an orthodontic specialist is in your best interest, then they have again provided you with the best dental care available.
